The climate of Cyprus is typically subtropical, but due to its location is one of the hottest parts of the Mediterranean. Summers are notoriously hot and dry, with glorious summer skies rarely interrupted by clouds; the season can also be completely rainless from May to mid-September, reaching highs of 30°C. If you head inland to the Troodos mountain ranges, expect cooler temperatures and refreshing winds thanks to their elevated positions. During winter months, the weather is still pleasant at around 20°C, although rainfall is more likely between December and January. Cyprus is generally a very sunny island, within the summer months, you can expect up to 13 hours of glorious sunshine.
